Weight gain while tapering off Effexor?

Is it just me or does tapering off Effexor cause weight gain among many other withdrawal symptoms? It may be just water retention but I find that I have gained weight rather quickly while getting off this drug. I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day but my stomach is still puffed out! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Has anyone had a similar experience?
